Smith joins the firm from conference producer IQPC, where he was managing director of its Singapore office, with responsibility for extending its reach into China.
At CWT he becomes part of the regional leadership team and will work closely with CWT global leader Floyd Widener, who was appointed earlier this year.
Widener and Smith are charged with giving Asia Pacific customers greater access to CWT’s array of global services and tools.
Widener said that CWT’s global meetings and events activity has experienced "double digit growth" in the last year.
"We’re expecting this to continue into 2013, with the Asia Pacific market looking particularly strong," he said.
