Caroline graduated in environmental science before working for DEFRA. She sent her CV to Universal World Events and in 2005 was offered the role of account coordinator. She is now account director.

Boss says "A key success for Caroline has been the growth of her account team – from four to 24 within the last year," says Denis Abbott, UK country director. "She is dedicated and drives operational excellence for clients within her own team and the wider company."

Career high My career progression. I’ve only worked for one main pharmacutical client and my career has grown ?with them.

Worst event moment The ash cloud. We were in Vienna with 100 delegates. We worked solidly for two days and nights, including queuing for ten hours straight at the train station to get tickets to Barcelona for 16 US delegates so we could fly them home.

I wish I’d run... A CSR event that Universal World Events ran for a pharma client in 2006, where delegates built houses in a township in South Africa.

Alternative career Perhaps in sales or operations for a five-star hotel.

My next step Continuing to build on the success of the client we’re working with and to get involved in the business development side of what we do.
