The A List 2012: Rebecca Hyson, Venues Event Management

After school, Rebecca worked as a hotel receptionist and a PA before joining Nationwide Building Society, where she was a customer service manager. After five years at Nationwide, she went back to hotel work and joined Venues Event Management three years ago.

Boss says "Rebecca is ambitious, always keen to get stuck in and goes the extra mile. Clients love her vibrant personality and colleagues who have worked on-site with her are full of very high praise," says chief executive Anita Lowe.

Career high Getting this job in the projects support team. When I started with the agency, they were the people I put on a pedestal.

Worst event moment When running an event for BP in Hamburg, we were getting a taxi transfer from the airport to the hotel when the driver got into a road-rage fight with another driver. Thankfully we didn’t have any clients with us.

I wish I’d run… I’d love to run a Monaco Grand Prix incentive trip.

Alternative career Team manager at Nationwide Building Society.

My next step Getting to the point where I feel like I am at the same level as my colleagues.
