The A List 2012: James Hampton, CI Events

James got into events with a dream to organise parties for Elton John. He started his events career at TFI Group, where he worked his way up to senior account manager, and joined CI Events as event director in February 2011.

Boss says "James has established strong relationships with clients and suppliers, as well as grown his accounts. He contributes to the office dynamics with a calm and outgoing personality," says business manager Gloriz Bretz.

Career high My first big event at CI Events last year for Dixons Retail. It was
the biggest event I have ever run, and really helped cement the client relationship.

Worst event moment I was running an event for the Royal College of Midwives and there was a mix-up of table plans, so I had a queue of 600 angry midwives.

I wish I’d run… Glastonbury – I have been the past three years and love it.

Alternative career Rock star – I used to be a singer in a band.

My next step A senior management role, and one day to own my own company.
