Rocco Forte Hotels targets growth with new global sales director

Rocco Forte Hotels has appointed Christian Renz as global sales director to help achieve its revenue growth ambitions.

In his new role with Rocco Forte Hotels, Renz will direct the team of 24 regional sales directors and managers located in twelve countries in Europe, Middle East and the Americas. 

Reporting to Karim Naffah, Rocco Forte Hotels’ managing director, he will also be a member of the Executive Committee of the Board. 

He will take up his post on 2 January 2013 and will be based in the company’s London office.

Sir Rocco Forte, the group’s chairman and chief executive said: "This is an important appointment for us to expand business further through our existing hotels and to support the growth of our brand network into the future."

Renz is currently executive director of hotels sales at Hotel Reservation Service (HRS), the Cologne-based online travel agency, where he leads a team of 50 sales people and provides consultancy advice for on-line marketing.

He previously worked in senior sales roles with Kempinski Hotels for five years from 2006 to 2011. 

As vice president sales, he was responsible for developing, expanding and leading the team of regional sales directors in Europe, the Americas, Middle East, Africa and Asia in order to maximise revenue at the 64 Kempinski hotels.

In his early career he worked with Marriott International, Starwood Hotels and Resorts and The Walt Disney Company.

Renz said: "It is a great privilege for me to join the Rocco Forte Hotels’ team and I am looking forward to working for this world-class brand and its collection of iconic luxury hotels."
