A lucky moment freelancing on a Disneyland Paris event landed Amber her first role in the industry straight out of college. She worked at Maxim Events for eight years before joining Grass Roots.

Boss says "Amber represents all the qualities of best-in-class event management. She has great attention to detail, yet never misses the big picture, ensuring all the events she works on harness the desired overriding emotional impact, but with the gloss that shows through when every little thing is just right," says events director Warren Hillier.

Career high The BMW dealer conference was such a complex event, with the theme being ‘going the extra mile’ – and it certainly was a spectacular trip.

Worst event moment Ironically, the same event, as every challenge presented itself – from a team member being sick to the roads subsiding, a delegate hospitalised and endless changes to the itinerary due to the government moving events around.

I wish I’d run… I love festivals, so it would be fun to consult on Glastonbury rather than run it. I would also love to do charity events.

Alternative career I’d work at an animal shelter or go back to school and be a part-time novelist.
