The deal – which is valued at £550,000 – is expected to begin on 12 April 2013 and run until 31 August 2014.

The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games event itself takes place from 23 July to 3 August 2014, across 14 venues including the SECC, Hampden Park and the Ibrox Stadium.

The appointed supplier to run the Games Travel office will formally engage with travel and accommodation markets to develop a solution for the Organising Committee, also known as Glasgow 2014 Ltd, stakeholders, and the Commonwealth Games Federation.

It will also integrate with the marketing department to provide Games Ticket packages.

The deadline for agencies to request to participate in the tender process is 6 December.
