The Ibis Academy event was planned to take place on 13-17 May 2013 at the renovated Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace in the Russian city. A firm opening date for the venue has not yet been set, although it is expected to open in the second quarter of 2013.

Ibis Academy manager Conrad Starr said the options were to "make other arrangements for 2013, or push our event to a later date".

The company decided to look at other destinations, including Marrakech and Dubrovnik, and settled on Prague, where delegates will stay at the Intercontinental.

Ibis Advisors has appointed DMC Senator Travel, and Starr said he would be selecting a gala dinner venue shortly.

"We've never done it this fast before, but it's all come together quite nicely," he added.

Last year's event was held at Gosford House, near Edinburgh.
