Cooke joins from his own agency MCC Events, which he founded in 2007, and will be working on growing the client base for the Berkshire-headquartered business.

He replaces Gary Povey, who joined BCD M&I in the spring.

BCD M&I vice president, business development EMEA Karen Evans said: "Matt’s impressive track record in event-level sales means he’s the perfect fit for BCD M&I.

"We have seen continual growth in our enterprise-level business, with several new SMM accounts coming on-board this year.  Matt’s focus is on taking our already substantial portfolio of event-level clients and growing that even further."

The agency has also added new recruits in venue sourcing and business development support this year.
