AECC managing director Brian Horsburgh said: "This is a unique opportunity for companies to form strong links with AECC as long-term business partners.

"This is an excellent way for forward-thinking businesses to communicate face-to-face with their existing, and potential, customers and build relationships with both the business and consumers attending events here."

The AECC, which hosts more than 400 events each year, is working with BDS Sponsorship to broker a deal, and expects to announce a new sponsor in early 2013.

As the National Energy Exhibition Centre it attracts national and international oil and gas events in the UK including Offshore Europe, All-Energy, Oil & Gas UK Share Fair, World Heavy Oil Congress, Unconventional Gas Conference and DEVEX.

AECC has been developing a strong focus on its business since restructuring its board last year.

Meanwhile, it invested £1m in extra space in 2011.
