Ellis left Conference Contacts in July, with chief executive Denise Ellis (pictured) now confirmed to take over his responsibilities.

The company has also reported placing several large events in Abu Dhabi, New Orleans, Barcelona, Las Vegas, Munich and Lisbon.

Meanwhile, Conference Contacts is also actively recruiting a new business development manager for UK-based clients. At present, more than 80% of its business comes from clients based outside the UK and they are seeking to increase their UK-based business in the coming year.

Rosalyn Giles, director of operations, said: "We have maintained an excellent working relationship with Alcatel-Lucent in Europe and North America for a number of years. This extended, global contract will generate a lot of new business for us through this major corporation over the next few years."

"Through these new initiatives, we are also re-organising our operations teams," added Ellis. "Like all expanding companies, we need to constantly fine tune our organisation to ensure we have the best resources in place to handle our new accounts. Earlier this year we recruited Janet Brannigan from BCD to head up our venue search department. We now have several operational roles available within account management".
