- Les Docks

New kid on the block, Les Docks, sitting along the banks of the Seine, is something of a design destination to the fashionistas, glitterati and artists of Paris. A veritable behemoth, the venue features a 3,100m2 events wing offering riverside views and a maximum capacity of 3,086. Also on the first floor lie two adjoining VIP spaces for groups of 150, while the ground floor passageway bordering the riverbanks can be used for cocktails and receptions for up to 800. A club, boutiques, restaurant and tea room all complement this new cultural space.

- Tour Montparnasse

Claiming the title of the highest panoramic function room in Europe, the Montparnasse Tower had a sleek makeover this year and has reopened as one of the city's best rooms with a view - one facing that other iconic tower in the city. Ascend to the 56th floor in the ear-popping express 38-second lift, and enjoy the exhibition of historic Paris before venturing in to the newly revamped Espace 56. The venue is already becoming something of a darling for the media industry, and can cater for receptions for up to 300, while meetings for 150 theatre-style can also be arranged. A shop and panoramic bar, the 360 cafe, completes the offering.

- La Gaite Lyrique

Describing itself as a digital arts hub, this venue sounds quite self-consciously hip but step inside and it is hard not to feel inspired by the eclectic yet cutting-edge vibe of this space. This former Parisien theatre was considered to be a jewel across the ages, playing host to Victor Hugo's 70th birthday and housing a troupe of elephants during the 70s in its guise as a circus school. The venue underwent a renaissance at the end of 2010 and is now targeting the corporate market to make use of its 1,400-capacity space. The vibrant spaces include The Large and Small Halls and a 130-seater auditorium.

nd try not to lose any delegates in the video games space or they may not re-emerge for some time.
