Ignite pursuing Olympic opportunities following Miami office opening

Ignite is targeting North American and Rio 2016 business after announcing plans to launch in the US, with an office in Miami opening next month.

The agency, which boats clients including NFL, said it chose to open the office following sustained growth over the past five years.

Ignite chairman Harvey Goldsmith CBE said: "Ignite has great heritage working with US-based brands and rights holders, so stateside was the obvious choice for us when it came to expanding the Ignite brand beyond Europe. Miami is also the hub for a large number of marketing initiatives into South America so the new office will be ideally located to pursue new business opportunities in Brazil, including the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games."

The Miami office will open in October 2012 and be led by Fred Porro in his new role as group managing director.

Porro will continue to oversee the strategic direction of the UK office as part of his new role. He will also work closely with Ignite co-founder Kevin Wall who is also the chairman and founder of Ignite’s strategic partner Control Room, based in Los Angeles.

Ignite works with clients including Vodafone, Barclays, NFL, NBA, ATP, Premier League, EDF Energy, Tesco and Sky.
