The Shard, the new Olympic venues and the Silverstone Wing are among the most exciting venues picked out by events professionals at C&IT Agency Forum 2012.

They were speaking at C&IT Agency Forum 2012 – held last week at the Cumberland and Thistle hotels in Marble Arch, with a surprise dinner at Harrods sponsored by London & Partners.

First Event business development manager Emma Stoker said: "There are so many new, exciting venues, especially off the back of the Olympics. There is the [Arcelor Mittal] Orbit, the Olympic Park when it opens next year, and The Shard coming up."

Smyle head of business development Rob Rooke added his most exciting venue is the Silverstone Wing, which opened in May last year.

DBMT account director Chetan Shah picked out The Shard, while Connecting Venues managing director Denise Zijlstra selected the Me By Meliá hotel in the Strand, due to open on 1 October.

Meanwhile, Juice Live Communications senior events manager Faith Tomala picked the London Film Musem.
