Excel London's managing director David Pegler has told C&IT that the venue is aware that it must not preclude existing clients after announcing the venue is searching for a naming rights partner.

After hosting daily events during the Olympic Games, Excel decided that the time was right to consider a deal that could include naming rights to the venue.

However, Pegler said that, although he is open-minded about business propositions, the venue would be wary of any tie-in that could potentially jeopardise its existing client relationships.

"We don't currently have any particular brand in mind, but it's possible that a complementary partner to the venue - such as a hotel group, logistics company or transport provider - would be a good fit," he added.

Pegler went on to say that any money gained from the deal would likely be re-invested in the business as part of its on-going rennovation and improvement strategy.
