The pharmaceutical-focused agency was formed from a merger of Universal Procon and World Events in March 2011.

Universal World Events has now completed a process to develop a clear mission statement and vision, following the merger and move of staff to the global head office in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire.

Comprehensive staff research using a management tool known as the Denison Culture Survey was begun in February this year.

This provided feedback into areas such as Universal World Events’ focus and strategy, as well as examining the global events industry market from the perspectives of key stakeholders.

A series of six working groups were then formed to develop mission statements, which included the commitment to staff, the international focus of the agency, the focus on operational excellence, and healthcare expertise.

Other mission headings covered the need to have a strong focus on financial areas of event management and the understanding of client needs to become a strategic partner, rather than just supplier, to clients.

Managing director Graham McIntosh said: "We have made the process as inclusive as possible and have involved staff from all of our offices along the way, wherever possible. Our vision is to be recognised as the leading international specialist, and partner of choice, in healthcare meetings and events."
