Brand Book: IT and telecoms - 2011 down marginally on 2010

The IT and telecoms events market accounted for nearly 18% of the top 50 UK agencies' business in 2011, on a slight downward trend compared with the 18.7% figure from last year, as revealed in C&IT's Brand Book.

Telecoms commands a 6.5% share of agency income, down from 7.8% in 2010; but technology contributes over a tenth (11.3%) to agency income, up from 10.9% in the previous year.

Industry commentators noted a growing emphasis on events with clear objectives and whcih conveyed business information, and less of an emphasis on extravagent events.
