The move was unveiled by Jonny Sullens, International Confex’s group director, who set out his three-year vision for the show, developments that clearly form part of a rally by International Confex against newcomer The Meetings Show UK.
He said that the extended programme would give delegates greater flexibility by not limiting them to the show’s 10am-6pm opening hours.
To date, industry events including the London Future Forum and Best of British Pavilion will take place during Confex Week.
Sullens said: "Confex Week embraces the two sides of International Confex. First is the exhibition and conference programme, providing business opportunities between exhibitor and buyer, and an educational programme that progresses all sides of the industry.
"Second is the platform International Confex creates for the industry to meet during a focused week in March, encompassing networking, meetings, AGMs, hospitality and live events."
Other new elements being introduced to International Confex include Destination Village, an area intended to give buyers "first-hand experience of destinations around the world".
International Confex takes place 19-21 March, 2013.
