Presentations from Michael Hirst, chair of the Business Visits & Events Partnership, ITV head of events and hospitality Katie Rezniak, Zibrant managing director Fay Sharpe and International Confex group director Jonny Sullens are billed. IET director of knowledge Tim Hamer, will lead a discussion on the opportunities for the events industry.

The launch, which takes place in the venue’s Riverside Room, will be attended by government representatives from bodies including the DCMS, UK Sport, and UKTI, as well as key event industry figures.

Discussions will centre on where the industry stands in 2012 and how it can grow through business and government support.

Hirst, who heads up the Britain for Events campaign, said: "Britain for Events is more ambitious than ever and we’re looking to continue our mission to encourage business to use events to spread awareness, share knowledge and create memorable experiences; and to do so in Britain.

"With the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics and Paralympics, Britain expertise in staging the very best is on show across the world. Now is the time to build on this success."
