The association has named the workshop series 'TechNoPhobia', the first of which will take place on 12 July at ICC Birmingham. It will be presented by app specialist firm Technology 4 Events and will focus on how planners can use iPad audience interaction tools at events.
Subsequent events will examine topics including social media.
Michael Foreman, ABPCO’s chair, said: "There is such a huge array of apps and tools available to PCOs now that is can seem a bit daunting.
"If we are to be in a position to advise clients on what will work best for their event, then we need to make sure we have some practical working knowledge of how such applications can be used at conferences.
"Our TechNoPhobia workshops are designed to be very practical and give event organisers a chance to get their hands on the technology in a pressure-free environment, plus giving them the opportunity to discuss openly with peers how to make the most of event technology to enhance the experience for their clients and delegates."
