The programme aims to help these individuals to assist in identifying and bidding for key meeting and other business event opportunities.

"We are pleased that some 30 key stakeholders have formally registered to be members of this programme," said James Seymour, the CEO of the Durban KwaZulu-Natal Convention Bureau.

"The establishment of this programme is the culmination of a workshop that was held in March with key association-related stakeholders in our region to discuss amongst other things the establishment of a formal business tourism ambassador programme.

"The Durban KwaZulu-Natal Convention Bureau will be providing its new ambassadors with special ambassador badges as a symbol of their membership of this programme 13 July at a function at their offices at the Tourist Junction Building."

Key members of professional associations in KwaZulu-Natal who would like to join this important initiative to bring more meetings to Durban and KwaZulu-Natal are requested to get in touch with the convention bureau.
