Cairo off-limits for C&I, says tourism chief

ElZayat said that he recently hosted a perfume launch for a US company and has been running incentive trips and events throughout the country.

"We are on the brink of our first election, but Cairo is still an unruly place, a no-go area for the C&I market due to the health, safety and policing issues. However, we expect it to return to normal after the elections," he said.

He added that he has spoken to ten of the thirteen possible candidates for president, and is confident that all the cadidates will encourage C&I tourism.

The Egyptian elections are being held on 23-24 May.
