Worrall was previously general manager at The Trafalgar Hotel, Hilton's central London hotel, where he opened the hotel's rooftop bar, Vista. His previous roles include director of operations at The Hilton London Metropole.

In his new role, Worrall will oversee the strategic implementation of the business, including the delivery of commercial objectives and financial analysis.

He said: "I'm delighted to be taking up my first position with Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Crowne Plaza London - The City, at what is a very exciting time. Besides the upgrades that the hotel has recently benefitted from, there's more exciting additions, which I'm eager to get off the ground, including a brand new stylish rooftop bar, which will rival even the coolest London bars."
