Fry, who has been with the Venues Event Management for 12 years, starting as an account manager, has been director of sales for more than two years.

He wil oversee the operational management of the company as well continuing with the management of the sales team and development of client relationships.

Fry said: "It is important for me to continue building and maintaining client relationships and I hope to achieve this by continuing with the direct management of the Client Development Managers. I look forward to being much more actively involved operationally and know that I have a strong operational management team that will support me in driving the company forward and meeting our targets."

Anita Lowe, chief executive of Venues Event Management, added: "We were all very sad to see Kate leave but I am delighted that Mark will now be taking on a much more operational role within the company.
