Agencies report buoyant first quarter

C&IT's State of the Industry report has revealed that agencies including George P Johnson and BCD M&I have beaten their Q1 targets and are forecasting growth.

C&IT'S State of the Industry report canvassed the sector's top agencies. BCD M&I's vice-president EMEA, Matthew Wall, said that, although 2011 was not the recovery that some predicted, 2012 began with a boom and prospects are good.

"We have exceeded our targets for the first quarter and momentum is starting to build," he added.

Meanwhile, BSI Meetings & Events client services director Mark Scales said the agency is 70% ahead of its forecast for Q1.

"We're now reaping the rewards of our long term strategy. in 2010 we went through a lot of tendering and are now seeing the realisation of this work," he added.

Q1 was also positive for George P Johnson, whose executive director business developement Kevin Jackson told C&IT that conversations about 2013 are already well underway.
