The new initiative will bring industry figureheads together for regular meetings over the next ten months to help curate Confex 2013.

"It is vital that International Confex, as an exhibition that serves the meetings market continues to engage with our industry," said James Samuel, event manager, International Confex. "We see it as our responsibility to continue to immerse ourselves with the industry by working with the biggest brands and thought leaders."

The group consists of senior buyers and thought leaders including: Leigh Jagger, chief executive, Banks Sadler; Aileen Reuter, marketing director, HRD Grass Roots; Alexis Butler, head of creative services, Zibrant; Rob Harrison, director group strategy & performance, Congrex; Jacqui Kavanagh, managing director, Trinity Event Solutions; Samme Allen, president MPI UK & Ireland Chapter; James Rees, president ICCA UK and Ireland Chapter; Paul Banham, business development director, Crown BC; Jane Baker – business development manager, CWT Meetings and Events; Sue Potton, managing director, Sue Potton Associates.

Samuel added: "This initiative gives us a fantastic opportunity to get into the mindset of what will allow buyers to justify spending precious time away from the office to attend our show. We have been delighted with the response we have received for the Advisory Board and we are looking forward to sharing the findings of our discussions and thus further enhance International Confex’s position as the market leader."
