Debut coup for Qatar centre

The Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) marked its official opening on 4 December 2011 by welcoming more than 5,000 delegates to the 20th World Petroleum Congress (WPC)

The triennial event, organised by the World Petroleum Council, is the largest oil and gas gathering in the world. Immediately after WPC, QNCC hosted the fourth United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Forum (UNAOC) from 11 to 13 December 2011.

With a 2,300-seat theatre, three auditoria, a multi-purpose conference hall for 4,000 guests, 40,000m2 of exhibition space and 52 meeting rooms, the centre can accommodate 27,000 people at one time.
