World Future Energy Summit, World Ophthalmology Congress and the Tawdheef were among the largest events, which together attracted more than 64,000 delegates.

ADNEC chief sales and marketing officer Humaid Al Dhaheri said: "Last year ADNEC hosted 231 events. This year appears to be equally promising. The different types of events taking place at ADNEC are in line with the Abu Dhabi 2030 Vision which aims to focus on sectors such as energy, defence and tourism."  

ADNEC unveiled the ICC Abu Dhabi in February.

ADNEC’s first quarter of 2012 highlights:
 

-       World Future Energy Summit in January, which attracted more than 26,000 visitors and speakers
-       Recruitment show Tawdheef attracted more than 28,000 delegates in January
-       The World Ophthalmology Congress took place in February, attracting more than 10,000 visitors from 136 countries
