Kia Oval recruits conference and events chief

Lime Venue Portfolio has appointed Maria Scullion as head of conferences and events at the Kia Oval, the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club.

Scullion was previously sales manager at Lime Venue's Dartmouth House in London's Mayfair. Her CV has also seen her work in sales at venue groups including Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, EEF Venues and Malmaison Hotels.

In her new role she will drive corporate and agency business across Kia Oval's 11 meetings and events spaces, which can hold up to 600 delegates.

She said: "My main objectives are to ensure that we are providing fantastic product offerings to meet client needs as well as maintaining key contracts and expanding the venue’s reputation for quality, versatility and good value."

Jo Austin, head of sales at Lime Venue Portfolio, added: "It is our key focus to develop our teams and offer real career progression within our collection.

"Maria’s corporate contacts and expertise in delivering high profile and large scale events will further enhance the excellent events offering the Kia Oval can provide to existing and new clients."
