Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is set to open the Shangri-La's Hambantota Resort and Spa in 2014.

Plans for Shangri-La's Hambantota Resort and Spa, Sri Lanka are now underway. The hotel will complement Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo, which is currently under construction in the capital and sheduled for a 2015 opening.

Shangri-La's Hambantota Resort and Spa will be surrounded by an 18-hole golf course, coconut plantations and sand dunes to the south.

The resort will offer 315 rooms, including 24 suites - all with balconies.

A spa and all-day restaurant will feature, as well as two pool bars and Golf clubhouse lounge.

More than 2,525sqm of event space will feature with pavilions also available for hire.
