Bowie, who was most recently managing director of recently-liquidated Genesis Adoration, is joined by former Novartis events head Ken Carter, who takes on the role of client services director, and Diane Kay, who becomes senior account manager. Both Kay and Carter worked with Bowie at Genesis.

Bowie said that the Horsham-based agency, which currently has a staff of nine, is in talks with prospective clients. He said that although his team’s heritage is focused on pharmaceutical, Activate would cater to the live events needs of clients from across all industry sectors.

He added: "Our aim is to create stimulating and inspiring events which provide vital opportunities for businesses to interact with the stakeholders who are critical to their success.

"We focus on optimising and harmonising corporate and consumer experiences in a [face-to-face] environment. In our increasingly digital and online world, Activate will champion the unique benefits of live events."
