BI Worldwide reports strong events business pipeline for 2012

BI Worldwide has revealed that its pipeline of forward events opportunities is more than three times the size it was two years ago following its record year in 2011.

The agency reported that confirmed events business in 2011 was up 20% year-on-year, boosted by an increase in internal communications events and new client wins including Toyota and Lexus.

It said the first half of this financial year (the six months to December 2011) shows strong growth for all events. Director of events David Battley commented: "We have seen a noticeable improvement in client spend on communication events for employees and customers, as well as a significant pick up in event needs from our European and global client base."

BI Worldwide announced in January that it had won a pitch to produce three events for automotive manufacturer Toyota and sister brand Lexus. It is also investing in staff and technology.

In December, the agency reported its 'best' performance of the past ten years, recording a 28.5% year-on-year hike in gross profit to £6.6m and an 18.3% increase in turnover to £19.3m for the year ending June 2011. The performance was driven by wins including a global contract with Dell in 2010, which is continuing to deliver.
