Asda staff event donation helps 262 homeless in Liverpool

Asda teamed up with the YMCA in Liverpool last week to donate food to homeless people across Merseyside following its annual management meeting.

The event at ACC Liverpool, organised by communications agency Logistik, saw 1150 delegates including company’s leadership team, store managers and head office staff, gather to hear business updates, network with colleagues and learn about new products for the forthcoming year.

ACC Liverpool introduced Asda to the Liverpool branch of the YMCA to arrange the donation at the end of the two-day conference.

Non-perishable items were donated to the YMCA from product demonstrations carried out during the meeting, which will go towards supporting 262 homeless people across the region.

Asda head of colleague communications Mark Cassidy said: "We’re delighted that we’re able to give our left-over products to such a worthwhile cause, something that was made possible by ACC Liverpool and its fantastic relationship with the local YMCA."

Bob Prattey, chief executive at ACC Liverpool, added: "We are committed to not only our own CSR but that of our clients and strive to link conferences held at our venue with organisations in our community. Introducing Asda to YMCA is a positive way for our clients to contribute to the city where they have chosen to hold their event."
