The venue, which reopened on the same date it closed for business last year following the January floods, now features a five level expansion.

With the completion of the 25,000sqm development, BCEC on Grey Street, the venue is now equal in size to Australia’s largest convention venue and is forecasting 300 extra events on top of the 1,000 events it hosts annually.

With a facade made from 85% glass, BCEC features two auditoria for 400 and 600 delegates with an accompanying foyer space, speakers’ facilities and private boardrooms.

Meanwhile, existing facilities include The Great Hall, which features a 4,000-tiered auditorium. The Australia's Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre now includes 44 meeting rooms and three stand alone tiered auditoria in total.
