Venues Event Management forecasts £45m revenue for 2012

Venues Event Management is forecasting a 12% increase in turnover to £45m in 2012, including parent company Expotel's C&I business turnover.

The agency, which was acquired by Expotel in November 2010, expects to post a turnover of £26m for the year ending October 2011 - excluding Expotel business - an increase of 20% on the previous year.

Venues Event Management chief executive Anita Lowe said that being bought by Expotel has had a large, positive impact.

"Being one larger organisation means we can cross sell. For example, for Jelf, we used to do accommodation only - now we are working on travel as well," she added.

Business has been boosted by wins with clients including investment company Skandia, which awarded the agency sole supplier status for its venue-finding services in June. In addition, Santander UK awarded its Retail Recognition Event contract to agency for the second consecutive year in October last year.

The agency has also appointed Trudy Heenan as strategic client manager, working on accounts including BT and Mercedes-Benz, in January.
