How have you used social media at events? I have been using Twitter and Linkedin for event marketing for some years. They are both extremely valuable for communicating with prospective attendees. Twitter provides an immediate response system, which cannot be rivalled. Linkedin is the professional face of social networking and we use it to promote 'webinars'.
How will you use it in the future? We are planning to use social media at Fico World 2011. We will live-tweet key sessions, events, parties and news; share quotes, photos and fun stories. Hashtags will appear in all printed material, helping us build equity and engage people through re- tweets. We will also use it as a customer-service tool to answer questions.
We will use Facebook to post key events, recaps and general news; add photos and encourage attendees to post theirs, too. We also plan to use Youtube to post session and testimonial clips; Linkedin for key events, recaps and general conference news; and blogs to write about key sessions and engage clients.
