MIA to consult GMs

The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) is holding a series of lunch events aimed at canvassing the opinions of general managers from venues across the UK.

The events, the first of which will be held on 26 October at the Park Plaza Victoria in London, will be headed up by MIA chief executive Jane Longhurst and chairman Peter Darnell.

In a statement, the MIA said: "The meetings are a consultation with senior figures within MIA venue members, helping to ensure the MIA maintains its position as an association that is representative of its membership.

Subsequent events will be held in Manchester and Leeds, in November and February respectively.
