Labour leader Ed Milliband was welcomed to the venue by ACC chief executive Bob Prattey. The event, which takes place between 25 and 29 September, will be attended by delegates including 2,000 members of the national and international press.
Keynote addresses by Milliband and Harriet Harman will take place in the Echo Arena, break-out sessions will be held in the adjoining BT Convention Centre and Hall 1C will hold the Young British Talent showcase, which is being hosted by comedian Eddie Izzard.
A further 500 fringe events are set to take place throughout the venue, in an adjacent marquee ‘village’ and at various locations across Liverpool.
The conference marks the biggest-ever event held at ACC Liverpool. The venue won the bid to host Labour's annual event in August 2009.
Prattey said: "This is the largest scale event we have staged and we are very much looking forward to seeing the rigorous planning and logistics bear fruit when Ed Miliband takes centre stage on Tuesday for his keynote address."
