The centre, which is set to open its doors for business on 11 October 2012, will boast 4,861sqm of meetings space and a 2,136sqm ballroom. The investment will give the resort a total 13,935sqm of meetings space, making it the largest-capacity meetings venue in Fairmont's global portfolio.

The events space will feature 'nano' walls that open up to the outside for open-air meetings or al fresco banquets. Inside space will include 47 meetings rooms, all of which wil be wired to offer the latest in av technology.

Chris Cahill, the group's president, said: "Over its 100-year history, Fairmont has been host to many legendary and historic meetings and events and this conference centre expansion ensures the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is well-positioned to offer creative and unique resources to tomorrow's guests.

"Launching this project has been a joint effort with our resort's owner Strategic Hotels & Resorts who have made significant enhancements to this iconic property and proved visionary partners in this hotel's continuing success."
