The event will feature sessions by Event Wales senior policy and planning manager Gwilym Evans, Festivals Edinburgh carbon and arts management consultant Ben Twist and chair of the Association of Exhibition Venues and Sustainability Emma Wellman.

The trio plan events including the Edinburgh Festival and national conferences at Earl's Court.

Event Management Hub project leader at Sheffield Hallam University Phil Crowther said: "Securing contracts and generating positive word of mouth increasingly depends upon your ability to demonstrate a sustainable approach to event management. This event will provide organisers with the information and inspiration to enhance your social and environmental behaviours and practices to secure a positive impact upon your events' economic sustainability.

He added: "The timing of the event is perfect, with the London 2012 Olympic committee launching its One Planet 2012 sustainability scheme to create positive, lasting change for the environment and communities."
