According to event professionals featured in C&IT's Brand Book 2011, launching at the live event, purse strings are tight in the retail sector, despite renewed optimism.

The retail sector has a balancing act between engaging staff at events, and ensuring they are in store as much as possible.

Retail events professionals will attend C&IT’s Brand Book Live event to discuss these, and other trends and challenges facing the sector in the coming year.

At Brand Book Live, seven sector roundtables will see event planners examine the health of each sector and identify the top brands driving event marketing in the pharmaceutical, automotive, consumer goods, financial, media, retail and IT and telecoms.

Key trends to be discussed include social media, the Bribery Act, strategic meetings management, sustainability and the events landscape.

C&IT's editor Yasmin Arrigo said: "Event experts specialising in the retail sector are invited to attend C&IT’s Brand Book Live to analyse the trends and issues that will shape events in the future.

"As social media and new technologies play an increasing role, delegates will be invited to forecast the size of the sector in 2012 and beyond."

Corporate and agency event planners interested in attending the roundtables at Brand Book Live should contact celia.miranda@haymarket.com and specify which sector roundtable they would like to attend.
