Phase Eight plans first dual-focus event for managers

Clothing retailer Phase Eight is holding an inaugural event for its store managers combining business-focused workshops with a fashion show product launch.

Phase Eight is running an event for around 270 of its store managers from across the UK and Ireland at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London.

Being held today (12 July), the event is combining a series of business-based workshops with a fashion show to launch its new autumn/winter collection.

Around 270 Phase Eight managers will attend the workshops – which include presentations from department heads in IT, store operations, finance, merchandising and HR.

Meanwhile, the afternoon fashion show, being held in the venue’s Palace Suite, will welcome 300 delegates from Phase Eight, as well as retailers which host fashion concessions.

It is the first time the two elements have been combined in a single event, as recent years have involved the business workshops alone, said Phase Eight corporate board PA Jenny Glen.

"We used to have purely fashion shows but felt we needed to introduce the workshops to make the event more informative for managers," said Glen.

"Now finally we are in a position to add the fashion shows as well, which is very exciting."

Phase Eight holds similar events twice a year – one in February ahead of the spring/summer season and the July event to launch the autumn/winter collections.
