AIBTM has kicked off with 12 education day sessions yesterday (21 June) prior to the main trade show exhibition opening today (22 June).

PCMA – which is co-located with AIBTM at Baltimore Convention Center –attracted more than 600 total attendees its education day, a 64 per cent increase on last year’s figures.

Although AIBTM had forecast 2,000 hosted buyers, the show had registered 1,000 to the end of May.

A total of 790 exhibitors have signed up for the show, including Visit Britain, London & Partners, Excel London, Visit Scotland, Convention Centre Dublin and the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre.

Dublin Convention Bureau business tourism manager Miriam Kennedy said: "I have high hopes for AIBTM and it’s good to see the inclusion of the online diary which we all value as exhibitors. I’m very confident Dublin Convention Bureau’s attendance at this event will deliver for Dublin."

Risk and Insurance Management Society director of meetings and events Salvatore J Chiarelli said: "I am looking forward to engaging with industry leaders and set the foundation of exploring the potential for new relationships with strategic business partners."
