The 171-room Hilton Doubletree in the Old Town, a few minutes walk from the Grand Bazaar, opened at the end of March and has four meeting rooms, with the smallest for 16 and the largest for 230 people. The Ora Exhibition and Convention Centre is opening in the city later this year, featuring a 10,000m2 exhibition space with a scalable capacity for up to 5,600.

The capital Ankara is growing in popularity as a C&I destination and to reflect this, Marriott is opening a property in the city's business district in June, offering 11 meeting rooms, the largest of which is the Attelia Terrace, an open-air space with a seating capacity of 1,800.

Rezidor will open a 138-room Hotel Missoni in Antalya in 2013, a golf and wellness resort near Belek with a ballroom and additional meeting space, while Starwood Hotels & Resorts is investing in the emerging business area of Bursa, on the south-east shore Marmara. The Sheraton and Aloft hotels are scheduled to open in 2013, with the former featuring 171 rooms with 1,700m2 of modern meeting facilities, including a ballroom and five conference areas. Aloft will have 133 rooms and free wi-fi.

Doubletree by Hilton opened a 126-room property in January in Avanos, Cappadocia in central Turkey. The hotel offers four meeting rooms, with the largest seating 350 classroom-style or 750 standing for a reception. There is a business centre on site and a health club with sauna and Turkish baths.
