The World Heavy Oil Congress 2012 is on 10-13 September and will host 1,000 delegates while the European Optical Society Annual Symposium 2012 on 25-28 September will attract 600 delegates.

The Society of Core Analysts Symposium 2012 on 8-11 October will host 250 delegates.

AECC managing director Brian Horsburgh said: "The news about all three of these societies choosing AECC as their venue for such major events reinforces that we are the venue of choice for housing such important international conferences."

The events were secured as joint bids with Aberdeen Convention Bureau with support from Aberdeen City Council.

The venue will also host around 500 delegates at the Oil and Gas UK breakfast briefing on 30 June, while this week sees around 500 HR professionals using the venue for the industry Cherries awards.
