Digital London - planned by technology event agency Maven Cast - is targeting around 5,000 delegates for its launch on 13-14 March 2012.
Maven Cast founder Adam Malik said: "It is about showcasing London as the digital capital of Europe."
Boris Johnson is set to be the key note speaker and sessions will be accompanied by a technology exhibition.
Pegler added that the capital’s accessibility and the technology-focused business community developing in east London made the city attractive for events.
"There is lots of innovation, and big budgets, in technology and we have a great infrastructure for that in the city," he said.
Meanwhile, London & Partners head of business development Barbara Jamison added: "The IT sector is so important to business events. We want to see a growth in that industry and we are targeting it to bring in their conferences, meetings and product launches."
ICC London Excel is hosting the EULAR 2011 – Rheumatology Medical Congress today (25 May) until 28 May.
