The role is in addition to Mark Taylor’s position as head of events, and Battley will be heading up a team of around 28.

Taylor is currently focusing on special projects, including Olympics-related events for global and local clients

BI managing director Mike Davies said: "We are delighted to welcome David to BI. His experience and industry knowledge will be an asset to our events team at a time when we are experiencing new business wins and a return of confidence in the industry."
