Crowne Plaza Chester general manager Mark Thacker said the aim is to increase revenue by seven per cent by the end of the year following the refurbishment.
The six-week refurbishment to the four-star hotel’s ballroom includes new carpets and the installation of a flat screen television to display event information.
The refurbishment also extends to newly marbled corridors, a dedicated bar area for events guests and feature artwork as well as updated toilet facilities.
Conferences for clients including Unilever, Carewatch and the National Farmers Union (NFU) have already been held at the revamped space, which takes 600 theatre-style.
A further ten events spaces can accommodate up to 350 additional delegates.
Thacker said: "It was 1999 when the suite was last refurbished and while it was perfectly serviceable it was old fashioned. We are delighted with the results of the new look and hope that our delegates will enjoy it along with all the modern conveniences the venue offers too."
