Winner of last year’s Technology Watch award – Sherpa Solutions – is partnering with EIBTM to develop the new mobile app.

EIBTM exhibition director Graeme Barnett said the aim is for the app to be ready around eight weeks before the exhibition opens at Fira Barcelona on 29 November.

"It will allow delegates to plan their itinerary, work out the meetings they want to have, locations of stands – it is about helping visitors make more effective use of their time at the show," said Barnett.

"The capacity for mobile apps is exciting but it is about how far to take technology that is actually useful for the majority of participants."

An app will also be available for AIBTM in Baltimore next month, added Barnett.

"It has been a good commercial opportunity for us and for Sherpa Solutions," he said. "We have been talking about this for a long time and looking at how to develop this type of product across the portfolio."
