Doubletree by Hilton’s vice president global brand marketing John Greenleaf said that the UK is a major target for growth, with possible locations including Newcastle, Birmingham and London.

A total of 25 hotels are planned for opening in the next three years.

"We have been so well embraced by the community in Lincoln which is really inspiring. The Doubletree brand is well pitched for the UK market, which seeks the stability of a major brand and the appeal of quirkier venues. Meeting rooms are always encouraged to attract local business interests," he added.

Doubletree by Hilton Lincoln is currently being built in the city’s Brayford Wharf North.

The 115-room hotel features a rooftop bar and restaurant, which visitors will be able to access using a panoramic glass lift.

More than 500sqm of meeting space is planned over four rooms. A 270sqm ballroom with capacity of up to 300 guests theatre style will also feature.
